TEDxSiouxFalls Announces Wendy Mamer as Lead Organizer
TEDxSiouxFalls is proud to announce Wendy Mamer as Lead Organizer of TEDx in Sioux Falls for 2023. The Lead Organizer will be director of event coordination, experience, promotions, and volunteer coordination.
Thadeus Giedd, now prior Lead Organizer who has resurrected TED events in the area since 2018, will remain involved as the License Holder and a volunteer to serve Wendy in her transition.
TEDxSiouxFalls is an annual event that provides an internationally known stage for those with ideas worth spreading to the world. TEDxSiouxFalls believes in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.
The primary goals of TEDx in Sioux Falls are to shed light on the thought leaders of our region, give them a platform to share their inspiring messages, and for attendees to be motivated to join their cause, learn something new, and become more connected and interested in our community.
TEDxSiouxFalls is operated as a nonprofit that Giedd and two other board members oversee. Wendy serves, in her career and primary work, as the Suicide Loss and Support Coordinator at Helpline Center in Sioux Falls. Prior to Helpline she was the Assistant Director of Admission at Augustana University. Wendy was herself a TEDxSiouxFalls speaker in 2020’s event; you can find her talk on youtube and ted.com.

I look forward to working alongside volunteers and the Sioux Falls community to build on the momentum Thad has in place for a successful and thought provoking event in 2023.” said Mamer when asked about her new involvement with TEDxSiouxFalls.
The open application for desiring speakers for 2023 is open now through February 4th. If you have a 4 to 16 minute message to deliver, apply at www.tedxsiouxfalls.com/application.
2023’s big event date that will be open to the public is targeting an early May date. When date is solidified public announcements will be made and tickets will be made available for purchase ($30).
Sponsorship options for 2023’s TEDx event will be available to individuals and organizations now through March who desire to partner with and support the event.
